'Orange' was not in that 'Range"

After two super hits, Ramcharan Teja came before audience with his new movie ‘Orange’. The title was very different and with Bommarillu Bhaskar taking control of the mega phone and hugely popular Genelia being the leading lady in the film, fans expected this movie too break all previous records set by Ramcharan’s earlier movie ‘Maghadheera’. The movie was a family affair for Ramcharan, with his uncle Nagababu producing it.

The movie was released internationally with few hundred prints. The movie received one of the best openings in the history of Telugu cinema. Majority of the movie was shot in Sydney, Australia and few portions of the second half shot in Mumbai. Genelia and Ramcharan both were given a different and very young look in the movie which was expected to be a huge hit among the young audience!

Though the movie failed to meet the expectations of the fans, the music by Harris Jairaj became a rage among movie lovers. His dancing too was an instant hit with the young and old. It was Orange songs which were being hummed by youngsters across Andhra Pradesh. Camera work in the movie too was simply superb and was widely appreciated. Fights were quite stylish and lived up to Ramcharan’s standard.

Supreme Movies, which is a sister concern of Supreme Audio which runs a music company along with music stores in Hyderabad won the international rights for the United States of America. And according to Supreme Movies, the movie received very good opening in the United States, with majority of South Indians living there thronging to the cinema halls screening this movie in various cities like New Jersey and California where there is huge Indian population.

Ram Charan has given good performance in the film and as mentioned earlier, Bhasker etched his character with new looks right from make up, attire, accessories, wardrobe. Ramcharan looked very different and critics opined that he had certainly improved his body language and dialogue modulation in the movie. Though movie did not fare that well among the masses and got restricted to niche crowd of metros, critics appreciated the performances of the lead actors in the movie.

Fans were highly disappointed with the comedy timing, which wa miserable. Though Genelia tried hard to be chirpy and bubbly through out the movie, the act failed to gain marks with the audience. Shazahn Padamsee, who earlier acted in ‘Rocket Singh’ movie made her debut in the Telugu cinema with ‘Orange’ and was looking good in the movie. Comedy by Srinivas Avasarala of Asta Chemma fame was decent along with comedians like Kshore Vennela and the seasoned Brahmanandam in the film.
