Ragada - a flop show!

Akkineni Nagarjuna's new release Ragada is a big flop! This is in addition to the long list of Nagarjuna's movies which have tanked at the box office in the recent years. Nagarjuna's fans who were waiting for a good movie from their favourite hero are highly disappointed with the movie not faring too well. The opening of the movie itself didnt meet the expectations of Nagarjuan's fans.

Ragada, which is produced by D. Sivaprasad Reddy and directed by Veeru Potla stars Anushka and Priyamani as the leading ladies opposite Nagarjuna. The movie also has Charmi dancing to an item number along with Nagarjuna. The modern day Amrish Puri of Telugu cinema, Pradeep Rawat is playing the villains character in the movie.

Music given by Thaman has done reasonably well. Music of Thaman's other movie 'Mirapakaya' of Ravi Teja has done much better than that of Ragada. Title song 'Ragada, Ragada' sung by Baba Sehgal along with Chitra and Rita is foot tapping and will attract the masses immesely. Most other songs though are made to attract the masses, failed to do so!

Nagarjuna's fans are upset on another aspect as well. The movie is not released in any of the major theaters of Hyderabad (other than the multiplexes). A little known 'Venkatesha Theater' is the main cinema hall for the movie. Many critics felt that by selecting this theater as the lead theater, the movie producers and director accepted the movie to be a flop even before it got released.

Critics also felt that Nagarjuna and team had really wasted their time on such a movie by created officials websites and putting all the effort in pre-release publicity for such a film. The official movie site www.nagragada.com was launched during the music launch which happened in the last week of November in Hyderabad. The music launch though was a classy affair with the entire Akkineni family including Nageshwar Rao, Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Sushant, Naga Chaitanya, Akhil standing on the dais at the event held at Lalitha Kala Thoranam in Hyderabad.
